How to Make a Heart Shaped Paper Gift Box
By Unknown - August 18, 2017
Who doesn’t like receiving gift that are made with love and
made by the person who is gifting you something? The art of gifting is not how
much is spent on the gift but it is thought behind it and sentiments that
matters. If a person is making something for you then there is definitely an
effort behind it so this is how gifting and its worth are measured. You can
create a beautiful heart shaped box yourself at home!
To make a heart shaped box, you need a couple of things, if
you happen to be a crafter you already have the stationary items with you and
you can even recycle the cardboard boxes around the house for making the gift
box. Gather the supplies such as two large pieces of cardboards, paper cutter,
sharp safety scissors, pen, tooth picks, markers/colors/paints, embellishments
of your choice, ribbons and a piece of satin cloth for a regal finish to it if
you are making a jewelry box for yourself.
We are making the heart shaped Boxes For Gifts using three different methods, you can pick which
ever you find easy and go ahead with it!
Heart Shaped Box 1:
Draw and cut out a heart shape on a paper, to make both sides
of the heart equal draw only half and then fold it and cut out to make an equal
heart with balanced sides. The size of this heart should be the size you need
for the box making. Now take the paper heart cut out and put it in a side of
the cardstock or cardboard. Make sure that you don’t waste the material so if
you have a really big piece of sheet, use only one corner of it. Draw the heart
on the cardstock following the paper cut out and cut out the heart on
cardboard. Now you must have kept aside some craft papers and printed sheets,
put the sheet on three different colors, preferable with very different
patterns than each other, draw and cut out heart from each one of these. Now
cut out two long and thin strips and put them aside. Put the cardboard on the
cardboard sheet and draw another heart for the lid of the box. Now take the
first heart shape and paste printed paper on one side of it with hot glue. Take
the long strip, put glue on the borders of the heart and stick the strip around
it like a wall. Repeat the same method but first stick colored and patterned
paper on both sides of the other cardstock heart, and put glue on the outside
edge of it and follow the same method for walls. Once the box and lid have
dried out, secure them with more glue and your box is done.
Heart Shaped Box 2:
In the method two, you don’t make a lid instead you stick two
hearts with printed sheet stuck on both sides and create a wall on one of them,
just make the wall in the shape of a ‘V’ and leave the top of the box. Stick
the other cardstock heart on top of it. This heart box is very unlike the wholesale gift boxes available in heart
shape; you can stuff in the gift from the top and cover it with a transparent
sheet, tie with a ribbon or a jute string and hang a pretty gift tag.
